A glorious waterfront property situated on the shores of  North West Bay, near Hobart, Tasmania.

Superb lifestyle available! And so close to a capital city.

The owners have had the privilege to have lived here since 1987.

We also own the vacant allotment at 291 Howden Road, next to 289. We will build our new residence there. We love the area and will remain very happy members of the friendly village community of Howden.

Howden is about 16 km from Hobart, the capital of Tasmania. The drive takes about 20 minutes on excellent roads.

Howden is situated on the shore of North West Bay, an offshoot from the D'Entrecasteaux Channel. The Bay is sheltered and allows easy access to the Channel and and other excellent secluded waterways.

There is a deep water mooring area in front of our house where we keep our ocean going yacht . A dinghy is kept at our boundary for recreational use and as a tender to the yacht.

The view from the verandah looking over the water in front of the house.

This photo is also taken from our verandah looking out to the left over North West Bay. The larger white yacht is ours.

289 Howden Road is a large allotment, (1,593 square metres) and has a boundary length of nearly 40 metres onto tranquil North West Bay. Birdlife abounds. Penny reckons she has counted at least 24 species in our backyard. It is a delight to feed them on our verandah.

Atlantic Salmon, flathead and other species are available in the nearby waters.  A yacht mooring is available with the house sale.

View from the side of the house. There is a large verandah overlooking the water.

And looking a little further to the left

View to far left and showing North West Bay. And our yacht, again!

House view from the water. A dingy is kept near the foot of the pathway.

And again.....from further away

Howden is a village on the shores of North West Bay. The bay is in a semi protected location at the northern reaches of the D'Entrecasteaux Channel.

It is gloriously picturesque and the immediate area is some of the best cruising grounds in Australia.

The eye is taken to the water view on entering the driveway.

This picture shows the verandah at the street side of the house, where the front door is located. Very private from the street due to a hedge.

The combined family area/kitchen is very large. This is a view of the kitchen from the family area
